Our History
Wilson Catholic Parish was founded in 1957 when Fr. Martin Diviney was named as the first Priest in Charge of Beeloo (later named Wilson). He was based at the Christian Brothers Castledare Boys Home. Fr. Patrick Gavin took over the role in 1961. December, 1967, saw the opening of separate school (that was used as a parish church on the weekend), in Margaret Street, Wilson. In 1977 the community of Christian Brothers in Wilson, closed. The Chapel at Castledare, which had been opened in 1957, was handed over to the Wilson Parish.
