Our Church Life
Volunteering in our Church
Our parish welcomes new volunteers to a range of ministries. Whether as an Acolyte and Reader, Liturgist and Social Committee Member, Choir member and Musician, Money Counter, Cleaner or Gardener, there is a role for everyone who would like to be involved. Our contacts page contains details to get in touch with our volunteering co-ordinator.
Special Celebrations
Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals can all be held at our Church in consultation with our Parish Priest.
Children and Families
Worksheets and colouring pages relevant to the weekly readings can be found at the entrance to our church. This gives parents and other caregivers a visual way to discuss the gospel stories with children and involve them in the of the mass.
As with all Catholic communities, our parish prioritises the safety of our children. Our current Parish Safeguarding Officers can be found on our Contacts page.
Nearby Catholic Primary schools are Santa Clara Primary School in St. James and Queen of Apostles School in Riverton.
Preparation for receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation is available either through education at Catholic schools or lessons conducted through Sacramental Programs at Queen of Apostles Parish in Riverton.
Donations to Other Agencies
As with other Parishes there are annual collections for Lifelink, Catholic Missions and other Catholic organisations throughout the year.Wilson Catholic Church has the link to the St. Vincent de Paul conference in Riverton.
We have a monthly collect of non-perishable food on the first Sunday of each month. Cash or voucher donations can also be made through the Poor Box at the entrance to the church. Other information about the role of St. Vincent de Paul Society can be found on our Catholic Support Agencies page.
